“Brought this for a HiFiBerry DAC+ Zero and a Pi Zero W 2. It's not quite as high quality a product as some of the bigger cases for similar prices, but it seems like the only one available for a Pi Zero -based audio system. It makes quite a nice compact audio interface when fully assembled. Initially it seems a bit flimsy until everything is put together but the assembly instructions (link in the product page) are definitely helpful (RTFM). It's a shame it didn't come with the stand-offs - you need to remember to order those separately because the DAC+ Zero doesn't come with any either. In the assembly photos it shows two sets of stand-offs (8 total.) I thought it might need the extra ones on top to help hold everything rigid inside the case but it works fine with just 4 (just use a nut or screw as required on the top.) Note that if you have male/female stand-offs, you need to put the female thread downward - there's enough room under the Pi for screw heads but if you have the stud/nut end sticking out, the Zero won't clip into place. Note that you can't access the SD card when it's assembled but that is not a problem in this application, in fact I think it make it neater.”
“Case fits the Pi Zero (or Zero 2) perfectly, aligning nicely with the HiFiBerry DAC+ zero outputs, leaving the USB and HDMI ports on the Pi easily accessible.
Tip: mount the Pi in the bottom base first, then add the face plate and finally add the lid.
Trying it in any other order won't work as the Pi needs to hook into the base.”
“PiHut is a great little company. Some years ago, my first order was lost in the post. When I contacted them, a replacement was sent out the same day and I got it a few days later. Service is excellent, description of goods are accurate and does the job. The UniPiCase neatly houses the Zero and the DAC and is designed for compactness where it can be discretely placed out of the way or behind other audio gear such as an amp.
I would happily order from them again.”
