“Maybe I expected too much of this case, but I was disappointed with it.
It took me some time to work out how to fit the Zero (W) into this case. Once I had done it a few times I can now do it is a matter of seconds, but it is not that obvious, well it wasn't to me.. Of course I could have read the instructions linked to on the items web page, but who does that? Why do we never get even a simple sheet of paper with instructions on any more?
The biggest issue is that no thought has been given to mounting the case to make the camera a usable device, it just faces up from a flat surface? There are also gaps all round the case where it clips together so it cannot be used permanently outdoors. Even with these gaps the Pi Zero gets very toasty inside the case, up to 70 degrees C. Not throttling but very warm.
Yes I probably expected more from it that £7.99 can offer, I am using it and I suppose it is protecting my Pi Zero and Camera, and it is very unobtrusive.”
“Clicks nicely together and, after closing some small holes in the mounting plate with glue, provides a low-profile Pi camera for sheltered outdoor use.”
