“Well built and good software interface for Python. Documentation seems to be poorly updated. Nice with schematics that seems to be for the actual board.
D/A converters are advertised as 13 bit. They are just filtered PWM signals with op-amp buffering. At midscale, peak-to-peak voltage is about 350 mV. 13 bit resolution at range 0-10V is 1.2 mV.
Analog input is adapted for 10 kohm thermistors. According to documentation, there should be pads to solder 0805 (2 x 1.25 mm) resistors in the case you would use lower value thermistors. However, there are no such pads. The 15 kohm serial resistors for thermistors and R/C components are size 0402 (1 x 0.5 mm), not so easy to replace.”
“Fantastic serivce from a professional team.
I have 9 cards from Sequent is a tall stack, plus two DIN rail mounts. During configuration I detected a rather strange and bizarre side effect. One, and only one, of the GPIO pins would not turn on. Somthing was holding the signal low. After contacting Sequent on Saturday, I was pleasently surprised to get a series of increasingly more detailed suggestions and diagnostics from Sequent. This proceeded, despite time zone differences, over Saturday and Sunday. It cullimated with the realisation that two of my cards, obtained from a UK supplier, were of an older spec. Despite this, Sequent created a new formware upgrade. Installing this, with the excellent and detailed instructions, solved the problem. This meant that by Monday morning the system is fully operational. This level of detailed and customised service gives me a feeling of trust and confidence, not just in the two Home Autiomation cards, but in Sequent as a company. I am convinced that I have made the best choice for my somewhat complex project by selecting Sequent cards for the integration. For reference, I have: 2 x Home Automation 2 x Mosfet cards 2 x Power Relays (no/nc) 1 x 16 solid state relays 1 x Smart Fan 1 x GPIO Hat (powering my home build 24 LED indicator board). I am very proud to be able to recommend Sequent to all builders. They have excellent, well made, cards. The design and construction are first rate. And the support from the company is beyond excellent.”
“When it comes to home automation, this card has everything. Unlike many other similar cards, not only to do you get more relays, but you also get a DAC in addition to the 8 channel ADC, plus a good range of I/O options. The board is designed to be stack-able,, but unfortunately a right angled connector has been used to bring the I/O out, which prevents the unit from fitting in a standard case, with out some modifications. The Python library supplied is prone to generating I/O errors and the unit can lock up in some situations. I have found that adding a short delay between operations and re-trying operations that throw and I/O error can significantly improve the reliability of the unit.”
