“I am using this product with my Rpi to read outdoor temperature (https://github.com/urwen/temper) and sftp'ing it to a webserver where it is displayed on a private webpage together with more weather info. There can be however - at least it was with my unit, and I read others having the same problem - an issue with occational erroneous readings. I solved that with a shell script reading the temperature up to 5 times with a 4 second delay between readings. This results in the temperature always being read successfully, and from what I've can see in the log, always makes a successful read on the first or second attempt. Strangely enough using a 3 og 5 second delay resulting in either a successful read on first attempt, or 5 consecutive erroneous reads, resulting in a failed reading. No idea why that happened. But, all in all, satisified with the product.”
