“This product is pretty good. I do have some things to say about it.
Pros: The range of zoom is exceptional, and the image quality is pretty good. The adjustment ring for light works pretty well, and is a good feature to have.
Cons: It seems to have black on the corners of the image due to the size of the opening on the lens being smaller than the image sensor on the Raspberry Pi HQ Camera. This happens only when I'm testing it I it's raw 12.3mp capture with a 4:3 aspect ratio (or something similar, I'm not entirely sure). If you change it to 16:9 aspect ratio (commonly used for videos) it has to shrink the height and thus avoids the black around the corners. Keep into mind this is with the extension ring off (the one included with the HQ Camera), as putting it on would produce bigger borders because the opening of the lens is further away. Besides all of that, the only other problem is the adjustment rings. They are hard to move even when the screw that locks them is entirely out.
Summary: If you want to make videos with this lens, which is what I wanted it for, it should work well. I wouldn't recommend this one for photography, and there are much better lenses out there for that. If you have an old lens from a camera, I would highly recommend getting an adapter for that to fit onto the HQ Camera, just as long as the lens has a good zoom range. 3 out of 5 stars for me.”
