“It's a nice case with an interesting and simple layered assembly principle. Yet, it is surprisingly difficult to assemble. Unlike the smaller version which exposes the micro:bit pins this case completely encloses the micro:bit and the power add on board. The problem is that the fit it too tight. Properly aligning the four plastic screws and all the layers is very difficult. The tolerances for the holes in all the layers should have been larger. One particularly difficult point in the assembly is aligning the hex nuts with the hexagonal holes. In a nutshell, a good concept bogged down by lack of tolerances.”

Clearly this solution does not permit a complete use of the I/O and consequently to attach other hardware. The micro:bit can be powered from the internal CR2032 button battery or through the micro:bit uUSB port and the CR2032 substitution will require the disassembly of the micro:bit from the MI:power otherwise ( when the battery is discharged ) after setting the slide switch to OFF we can use the uUSB port to power ( or program) the device.
In order to make a nice and stimulating gift I opted for this solution because by few rows of code I need only a menu to choice, by the micro:bit button, the holiday message to scroll on the 5x5 LED matrix and the music to play”
