“I'd not even heard of a computer a few weeks ago, I saw that a radio ham in America had used one as a data terminal for a radio transceiver. I found the project interesting and was happy to see the Cardputer ADV available from The Pi Hut at a very reasonable price. The Cardputer ADV worked out of the box and it was easy to put example code on to it using the tools available online. Putting the custom ham radio code on to the Cardputer ADV was a little more difficult but I got there in the end after sleeping on it! The Cardputer ADV is an awesome little device and subsequently friends have also placed orders for them! (I need a click through sponsored link! :-))”
“Amazing value for money as a tech fidget toy. So many features on board and available as "Caps". Dig in deep and code yourself or add a Launcher to hop between community constructed .bin files that can be loaded from SD. 32GB SDHC is recommended.
Caution: as the community built .bin files can not be inspected the should never be fully trusted, especially given the nature of some!!”
“Clever bit of kit, I’m not a coder so reliant on others efforts, there are quite a few firmwares already developed and I hope there are many more to come.
The latest appears to be a firmware for MeshCore which works well with the additional cap, however, it does seem that there are 2 versions of the cap and mine is the earlier version which is disappointing as I only purchased weeks ago.”
“I have had the cardputer v1.1 for 6 months now. also got the M5stickplus 2.
I`m disapointed in the wifi range of the ADV. its very poor, compred to the older hardware I have. However, the audio jack is the only reason I bought this,”
