“Powerful little element, I sandwiched this PTC between 2 x 3mm sheets of aluminium as a thermal mass, then put it inside a box lined with ceramic fibre insulation with a mica floor.
Then I added a thin ceramic fibre paper liner with airholes as the top lid for insulation, and put 2 x 5V fans on top. Really surprising how well it works.
I am not going to heat a room with it, but it would make a good tent heater to keep the chill off, or a portable USB hair dryer, perfect for camping or festivals.
Fun little experiment, there are a few experiments I want to try with this element, like a sand thermal battery.
Using heat transfer and heat loss to your advantage is the best way to use these elements.”
