“This has a very fine finish and has the stated current capacity and also has the said short circuit protection. This unit can charge 18650 batteries with around 2A current and tested to see that it does not overcharge. The only problem is this unit (the unit that I received) does not have deep discharge protection for the batteries. Mine did not turn off even at a battery voltage of 2.5V per cell. But of course, they do not say that it has deep discharge protection for batteries, but such protection is usually expected by a product with such a nice finish. Anyway the plus side of not having a deep discharge protection circuitry or an inbuilt BMS is that you can power it up with a DC power supply. I was able to power it up with a 15V power supply and it worked fine. If you are going to use this with 18650 batteries unattended then don't buy it. It may kill your batteries. But if you are going to use it under direct supervision or use it for projects with low current draw. This is good for you. As I'm always using it under direct supervision, not having deep discharge protection is not a problem for me. I'm happy about the buy.”
