Understand it might not make every job easier, but was a marked improvement over previous desolder attempts.
It does often get solder stuck in the tube, but thats ok, as it comes with spares.

“This desoldering pump has been an absolute god's end to me - Since replacing some worn-out tools with this one pump, my ability to de-solder has improved to no end - the simple act of a piece of silicone at the nozzle of the pump means the pumps ability to create a vacuum around the molten solder is vastly improved and pretty much vacates the hole with no problems.
No tool is ever 100% of course, and sometimes solder or debris just doesn't want to play ball, but this pump feels solid and works incredibly well. As much as you do get a piece of Silicone tubing to replace the preinstalled piece, as it will wear out over time, I would strongly recommend picking up two or three pieces as spares if you're ordering one of these.”
