“The heating is well made, easy to fit and keeps the PI cool. The only problem with it is that the slot for the camera cable is too small. It's impossible to use a camera cable with it. Do not buy this case if you want to use a camera. Good access to I/O connector the case helps protect connections from knocks.”
“I've opted for the aluminium heat-sink case for my Pi 5 since having heard that the cooling fans turn out to be noisy. Seems to be good maintaining the temperature in the 30s Centigrade.”
“I have run a pi 4 in an Aluminium Armour heatsink case for a few years now, running a video-conference setup. The heatsink case was fitted tight against the large metal support plate for the monitor.
Now I have replaced the 4 with a 5 it seemed obvious to source the same kind of case.
This case is very similar in design and concept to the previous case I had, except for being only available in one colour! It also has more thermal pads, there are five for the five chips on the board which connect the chips to integral aluminium platforms inside the case. There is also a huge thick thermal pad to connect the underside of the board to the bottom of the case. This amount of thermal connection to the metal case gives really impressive cooling; the system reports the core temperature at less than 30˚C when running a video call in Chromium.
All in all I am very happy with this case - the thermal pads are a bit tricky to fit, each has a thin film on one side and a thick film on the other. I found it easiest to remove the thick film first, place the pad on the chip, and then remove the thin film.”
