“A very simple and basic device, on the face of it. However, having used mini keyboards, usually connecting via Bluetooth or a dedicated wireless dongle and having built-in trackpads, I found this usb keyboard to be extremely comfortable and easy to use. Sure the cable connection is a pain but it's this basic essence of the thing that works so well, you need nothing, no Bluetooth, no WiFi, pure plug and play. I bought a usb-a to usb-c adapter and can use the keyboard with my phone or tablet with no issues at all. Main reason I bought it, though, was to resurrect an old Pi 3. Worked a charm.
Can't see me ever needing the PS/2 adapter, must be a good 30 years since I needed that kind of connection!”
“Perfect for my monitor trolley with a small keyboard/mouse tray. Gives me more room to move the mouse without bumping the keyboard. Keys feel great—nice and tactile. Set the Raspberry Pi keyboard layout to English (US) Generic 104-key PC, and it works flawlessly using USB.”
“Way back in 1978, I assembled a microcomputer based on the 8080A. It ran 8K floating point BASIC. For purely nostalgic reasons, I assembled a PIC device, running BASIC, during the 2020 Corona Lockdown. This was my keyboard, as it worked with the required PS/2 socket. All credit to PiHut for running mail order, at the time.
This usb keyboard is exactly what you would expect. It’s small, but fine for my two-fingered” hunt and peck”. It came, separately, with a green “mouse” PS/2 adapter, whereas I needed the purple “keyboard” adapter. Fortunately I had one.
All works fine. Pleased with my purchase. Pleased with PiHut”
