“I bought this as a tinkerer with automation hardware and software (on iOS and Mac) and with some experience with RP2040 and also Raspberry Pi's.
I also have all 4 models of Stream Deck (but not the pedal).
So I know something about automation.
This is an excellent device. As others have said, buy the full kit.
No soldering was necessary - so it was easy to put together.
CircuitPython made making text automation a breeze - including Mac Volume Control, invoking Spotlight (actually Alfred), and inserting text snippets with cursor manipulation for customisation.
One difference from Stream Deck is the keys can only light up - rather than displaying a graphic. But I programmed the nice little screen to flash up info on what the key press did. Also I made the light under the pressed screen flash green for half a second.
Overall I'm very happy with this device. It's been a lot of fun and it might actually be useful "in production".”
