It has proved to be excellent for this use.
I have made adaptors which allow flats to be taken when using my 80 and 72 mm telescopes.

“I believe this inverter is actually intended specifically for 500-600cm EL wires, which you'll see if you zoom in on the product image. However, the lower bound is (at time of writing) not mentioned in the technical details or product description (which just states: up to 6m), and that is all I saw at time of purchase.
I was intending to use this to drive a 3m EL wire, but with that length the squeal is horrendous, and the case seems to be filled already with some kind of flexible material. Perhaps if used to drive the correct length the noise level produced would become tolerable, I don't know.
Note: If you search for WY-ELI EL inverters you'll see that there are various other sizes of these 12v inverters that are specifically designed for use with longer or shorter wires.”
