Works perfectly and cheap and compact way to add solar panels to a project that will be kept outside away from power supplies.

This charger works well both with the big Adafruit solar panels and small, cheap panels. Apart from the Lipo battery output there is an output labelled load and one labelled battery. It appears that the load output, while managed smartly, isn’t suitable to supply the Lipo input of a Feather microprocessor as it may supply up to 6v. Presumably the battery output is OK for a Feather, I’ve seen instructables using it but it isn’t mentioned in the instructions.

The circuit works with very weak light aswell, but BEWARE: to stop getting power from the battery, it just relies on the cutoff circuitry of the battery itself. if you deploy a battery without such circuitry, you could end up with a useless (or worse, exploding) battery!
