Very easy to use with the ESP8266, and the audio quality is excellent - through headphones at the moment, but I'll add an amp and speakers later. Took just a few minutes to set up on a breadboard, find the right libraries, and have it playing audio files.

I used this board to add I2S sound to my Raspberry Pi. Its works very well with great quality sound output. The inbuilt headphone socket works well and feeding the output on to another Adafruit amplifier gave great sound through a cheap, single speaker. Very easy to set up and get working.

Bought for use with ESP32. Works really well. Originally believed it to be designed to support output to headphones, however later found that its actually a line level output but can just about drive some headphones. It's been working very well for me connected directly to headphones, although I'll probably drop a proper amp after it at some point.

I received this product fast and accurate. This product has a comprehensive description in Adafruit website which helped me to get it work in just few minutes. However, I observed that two soldering pads of the output 3.5 mm were loose! This caused the audio become garbage often due to random disconnections of the audio ground. I had to re-solder them to solve the problem. Now it works flawlessly, but I expected better PCB assembly from Adafruit.
