“Overall good and cheap joystick,
However if you beginner, don't buy this one, but find the one that is already attached to breakout platform. This product cannot directly be attached to the breadboard.I have made this mistake:(”
“An excellent little analog thumbstick for when you need something with a lower profile than the larger PS2 style analog joystick. Best used with the associated breakout board if you require 0.1" pin spacing.”
“I've been after these for some time now. They must sell well since I frequently find only the adapter board or this thumb stick available. I require both. So I just snapped these up pending restock of the boards. Consequently, I have not used these in a project yet. I have simply performed a resistance test on them”
“The button's got a nice smooth feel and reports an analog signal for left/right and up/down, which for the Pico I plugged it into requires using one of the two ADC pins. For prototyping you'll need to solder some wires to the connectors, although I believe there's a breakout board version which would make things easier there.”
“Remarkably effective little thumbstick. Smooth action and seems well built.
The only problem is the pin pitch isn't 0.1". Its close but not close enough to fit strip board or prototyping board.”
