“I am actually using this adaptor on a laptop which has extra storage in the form of a microSD card permanently attached to it. If I were to use a standard SD card then it sticks out of the side quite a way and using this adaptor with a microSD card instead has reduced the protrusion by about a third. The laptop looks tidier as a result and there is less chance of catching the card and damaging it.
I have reduced my rating by one star simply because of the cost. I appreciate the economics of scale probably mean that these adaptors are made in lower numbers than the traditional microSD to SD card adaptors, however the latter is often supplied free with microSD cards these days. I didn't mind paying this as a one off (and looking around at other suppliers, The PiHut is as competitive as any other), but at the end of the day it is quite an expensive accessory when their bigger brothers are given away for free.”
