“no real problems setting it up with my macbook, several updates and 45minutes later was all up and running
i got the LED cloud example working fairly easilly
now exploring some of the other examples and working out how the comms work between the Linux side and the Arduino side
i was holding out for the 4GB model but gave up waiting”
“This is a super powerful device. For those that love microcontrollers and/or Raspberry Pi's, this takes your projects to the next level. The inbuilt blocks make making a lot easier. I built a Computer Vision automated device in hours!”
“Arduino say that you can be up and running in 5 minutes, unlikely. After reflashing, updates and rebootin 3 times, it was around 45 mins.
Once setup it is a good little board with some useful ready made apps on the app lab, to play with.
it uses the same form factor as the Uno, which is useful.
Power consumption is very low.”
“Stunning hybrid board from Arduino. Plug in the board to your monitor and program the Microcontroller using the onboard Linux app or from your main desktop - even works with the Arduino IDE.”
“Quick delivery.
I had seen a claim by Arduino that you can get up and running with the Uno Q in 5 minutes.
I connected the Uno Q to my Mac mini with a USB C cable and opened the Arduino App Lab, the Uno Q was found and I was asked to choose keyboard layout, I did that, I was then asked to choose my wifi SSID and then add the wifi password, all ok, clicked to confirm and then nothing. The unit seemed frozen I left it for 5 minutes and no change so I rebooted, This got me back to where I was before the reboot, did this 3 times before I was told updates were available, I chose install updates and after a few minutes I was told the update had failed, tried again and once more failed, after the third try I was told that I should re flash the unit. So, I download the file and the flashing software, I re flash and then reboot and the update fails again. I decided to give it one more try and every thing seemed OK I was asked to provide a password for linux and did so, all seems OK now, but a very frustrating 45 minutes to get up and running. Nowhere near the 5 minutes they claimed.”
