I'm an Arduino newbie, but I am pleased to say that the genuine Arduino worked straight out of the box. There was no bother with USB-serial drivers, it found a default driver on my MacBook which worked perfectly.
Success with this board gave me the confidence to persevere with a clone Arduino board that had given me some trouble by requiring CH340 drivers to be installed.”
