“The product is really good and high quality, making clustering raspberry pi's much easyer. For supporting also pi zero 2's I can now make nice compact k3s cluster also.”
“With adequate power and cooling it works fine with Pi Zero 2W nodes.
You can configure the Clusterhat to run on a separate power supply and to supply the nodes, instead of the default which is to run the hat and nodes from the controller Pi GPIO supply.”
“The Cluster HAT is a great device to allow you to build a small cluster that consumes little power and space. Great for small software development projects.”
“This is a excellent product. When I got it I installed it into the small cluster case. I have to say I was extremely happy with this. It performs perfectly as a cluster. Have to say, this was money well spent. Highly recommend this product!!!”
“Physically, the hat is as described and arrived in good time. The online instructions on the other had, are not that well written, don't contain any trouble-shooting and are not friendly to newer users of the Pi tech ecosystem.
Based on the instructions alone, I wouldn't recommend this product, which is supposed to make it easier to create cluster computing. Given the level of knowledge you need to make sense of the instructions, and to resolve the many problems that can arise, you'd be better off buying a USB power dist unit, a net switch and usb cables. The are loads of instructions for this kind of rig and they are all way easier to follow that the Cluster Hat v2.0 instructions.”
“Very simple assembly and a choice of three approaches to building the cluster. Great way to teach kids about distributed computing and programming via distpy. Ideal with 4 Raspberry Pi Zeros, but can work with just one one, though also requires a 3B+ as the management node.”
