“Works well with Home Assistant hosted via a HAOS VM on Incus with USB-passthrough. Setup was a bit of a faff, requiring a restart of the HA instance, but that's not necessarily a shortcoming of the device (more of the docs that didn't indicate the need for that). It's enabled me to replace a dodgy Aqara PIR with an Ikea Matter-based one from the new Ikea range of sensors, and it's been reliable for the last few weeks.”
“Looks neat, works perfectly, much more stable thread connection than my Google home network was, haven't had any drop outs yet and it's been two weeks.
Also have a second on ZigBee for a month and haven't had any drop outs or issues”
“Great product and works well. Initial setup could have been better, initially saying it needs a firmware update in order to work but then not working with errors which really didn’t indicate the problem, this was traced back to an HA software issue and managed to work around it but since then has been solid and meant I cloud integrate matter into home home assistant setup.
Device is larger than expected but not offensive by any means.”
“Probably my fault for not researching thoroughly first, but I hadn't realised that although the ZBT-2 supports Zigbee and Thread it is an either-or scenario rather than being able to support both simultaneously. A bit disappointing considering I was hoping to bring IKEA's new Matter products into my HA setup.”
