At the moment, the device has strong but limited use and that should be expected as this is a preview edition. Improvements will be made to the remote language model which powers it and I haven't no doubt that in the near future, the product will be good enough to rival ad-funded competitors. The core functionality is there, it just needs a little more interpretative ability to allow you to be a looser with your commands.

This little device is a game changer! As a big fan of Home Assistant, I was really excited to try out the Voice Preview Edition and it exceeded my expectations. Setup was a breeze. I had it up and running within minutes, seamlessly integrated with my existing Home Assistant setup. The real fun began once I started exploring the customization options. Overall, the Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition is a fantastic piece of kit. It's easy to use, highly customizable, and adds a whole new dimension to my smart home. If you're a Home Assistant user looking for a privacy-focused, locally-controlled voice assistant, look no further!

It's a preview device aimed at developers, not consumers. Be aware of that and it's amazing. Do not buy if you're not a home assistant tinkerer

So much better than the DIY voice assistants. I've previously tried building my own, and installing voice assistant hardware on things like the m5stack platform. This is purpose built as a voice assistant and the mics, the wake words, the speakers, etc just work so much better.

Plugged it in and it just worked, well sort of, the wizard to set it up crashed because I wasn’t setup with HA cloud, setup an HA cloud account, factory reset voice unit, then setup worked perfectly, so far it works great, and even doesn’t always recognise my Essex accent like Alexa, what more could you ask
