“I'm fairly happy with this unit but for two things. First is that the battery soldering connections on the back of the board are tiny but doable. Second the reset and download buttons by the side of the usb c are also tiny.
I now have two of these sets working on Meshcore and I am happy with there performance”
“Great little LoRa starter kit, very quick to setup and get running. Adding a battery is fairly easy, but you'll need to upgrade the antenna to something more substantial if you don't have other mesh nodes nearby.”
“I have it setup for meshtastic as a tracker. it was easy to set up. only thing I needed to add was a GPS module. the one had was not a XIAO one but it was easy to connect up using perf board but on second thoughts useing the XIAO one would of saved me soldering.”
“Recommend for people who don't mind a bit of fiddling.
I connected a 3500mA battery and separate battery manager pcb.
Running as my home Client_Base with Meshtastic.
Surprised by the range ever before upgrading the antenna.”
“Simple to reflash to MeshCore, but this then makes the WiFi interface redundant as MeshCore does not support it.
Too power hungry to deploy as a repeater or room server, better off with the nRF52840 or the RP2040 as they are far more power efficient as Nodes”
“Perfect mini device for a cheap meshtastic node. Installing this with a small battery pack to make our phones more functional on our next ski holiday! Easy to expand for more projects.”
