“I used the module with the WIZnet W5500-EVB-Pico-POE to make an Ethernet port tester. The tester connects to a POE port and makes an NTP request. When it receives a response, it toggles in onboard LED. The tester made the testing of 60 Ethernet jacks in 30 rooms fast and easy.”
“No quality control evident. The first of three modules purchased has so much signal noise that the W5500-EVB-Pico-POE that it's soldered to cannot communicate properly via ethernet when using a PoE connection. Powering the W5500-EVB-Pico-POE via USB-C and connecting by regular LAN works fine. The second WIZPoE-P1 PoE module (soldered to a W5500-EVB-Pico-POE in the exact same manner) works without issue. The power input pins (VC1 and VC2) on the WIZPoE-P1 PoE are also labeled opposite of what is labeled on theW5500-EVB-Pico-POE. If they can't even label it right, how good is the rest of the build?”
