“I have a few of these retro-inspired Pi cases, and this is by far the most fun(ctional) - and great value too when you consider everything that is bundled into this tiny unit, not to mention the docking station as well! I'm using it with a CM4 Lite as recommended, and performance in RetroPie is fantastic for all the platforms I've tried.
I do have a few criticisms, however. I found the CM4 quite difficult to install and get seated, access around the fake "cartridge" slot is not great and requires quite a bit of force at an odd angle to get the compute module to clip onto the connectors.
And secondly, there is no way to monitor the battery level in software. When it runs out, it will just turn off (just like the real one did!)
Both minor issues, but hence 4 stars from me.”
“I recently purchased a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) and a RetroFlag GPi Case 2 from PiHut, and I’m really pleased with the whole experience. Right from the start, the checkout process was smooth, and the items shipped out much faster than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised when my order arrived within just a couple of days.
Setting up the CM4 in the GPi Case 2 was straightforward, and everything worked perfectly out of the box. However, I did run into a small issue with one of the components. Thankfully, the RMA process with PiHut was just as efficient as their shipping. I contacted their customer service, and they were incredibly responsive and helpful. The return and replacement were handled quickly, with minimal hassle on my part.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with PiHut. The fast shipping, quality products, and excellent customer service have definitely earned them a repeat customer in me. If you’re into Raspberry Pi projects, I’d highly recommend checking them out!”
