“Very well made little device, i cant speak for how the sound quality varies compared to without the digipro 2 as i did not try just the raspberry pi 5 without it to start with (pi5 usb out to DAC)
However before i was using an android phone to my mojo 2 DAC (with usb audio player pro app) and it was definetly not as good as using this, soundstage was bigger, background was darker, zero jitter like you get from computers/phones and it is audible, great addition for those using a pi soley for music streaming, using the SPDIF connection to coax on the mojo 2 for those interested as the optical couldnt output more than 96khz on high res audio platforms, the coaxial carries 192khz.”
“Bought this to add to a Pi2 running Max2Play into a newly-acquired Chord Mojo 2. Set up was easy. I modified an existing case to accommodate the outputs from the Digi2. Using a Toslink into the Mojo removes the clicks that seemed to be inherent in the usb output from the pi. At first I wasn't sure about the sound quality - very quick responses from HifiBerry to my questions. All now good.”
“Works well. Have only used the coax output yet, not the optical. When it powers down and then back up upon playing a new track, there is a slight click through the speakers (via a Beresford Bushmaster DAC). I may need to fiddle with the settings to increase the "sleep" time to avoid this.”
