“Needed a method to back light old radio display glass that is now a pi radio, wanted visual power on power off indicator so got usb to couple of wired leds plugged into this and then a control pin to gpio and sorted! Easy to use does what it says and happy days”
“This module implements something that should have been part of the USB specification from the start: The ability to turn power on or off to a connected device.
An absolute must for "dumb" devices like USB powered fans or lamps to make them operable from a RP2040 or Arduino device.
I'm currently using it to switch power to a WS3080 weather station that has a bug that makes it loose USB connectivity every once in while ;-)
The module could be improved if solder eyes were provided in addition to the USB sockets - this would have saved me the extra USB cable currently required.”
