Gary H! Many thanks for your post. I spent about an hour trying to get this mouse to work. But after reading Gary's warning, I had a good look at the battery. Then I looked even more closely. It is shipped with an invisible clear plastic shrink-wrap covering it. After removing that, and plugging the receiver into a USB socket, the mouse installed itself and worked immediately.

Bought for my teenage son and has been a resounding success as his first PC, to surf the web and play online games.

Bought for Pi 400. Ergonomically fine, comfortable and pleasing design. However when connected the cursor tracking speed was incredibly slow. Found a fix online but this potentially impacts on CPU usage. Working ok but not quite as well as original wired Pi mouse.

A neat wireless mouse, the transmitter/receiver can be stored within the mouse itself. No problem in getting it to work.

Have noticed a slightly worrying sensitivity to RF energy. Otherwise it’s great.

I have found using a mouse with a cable to clumsy so have now started using a wireless one.

This is a decent mouse at a very competitive price. Be aware however that mine came with the AA battery shrink-wrapped in very tight plastic which I didn't notice when I fitted it into the mouse. Needless to say it didn't work and I initially suspected a defective battery. I saw another review here mentioning that the supplied battery didn't work hence me mentioning the plastic covering the terminals. It is not uncommon for bulk batteries to be wrapped this way but I have never seen an individual battery sealed in this manner before.
