“I ordered 2 starter kits and delivery was very good, but we have had problems with removal of the battery connector from both kits. It should be possible to remove them with a slight wiggle, but having tried wiggling side to side, up and down and a combination of the two, they remained firmly attached. I've been reluctant to use pliers or other gripping tool to force them apart because of the fragility of the parts and high risk of damage.
After a considerable amount of time and a variety of different strategies, I did manage to free the connector from one of the micro-bits with the edge of a steel rule, but the other remains firmly attached. It would have been less of a problem if the supplied battery holder had been of the type with a switch, but with the switchless type, I had to remove batteries every time I wanted to fully disconnect power. If a switched-type battery holder had been supplied instead of the penny-pinching switchless type, it would have added very little to the supply cost and resulted in much improved customer satisfaction.
To overcome the problem, I've had to incur the additional expense of buying two new switched-type battery holders and spend a significant amount of wasted time trying to remove the connections. With one connector still to be removed, I don't yet know what the total cost if this fault will be and The Pi Hut did not offer to replace the faulty items. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with this product and the supplier.”
