“Great touch screen monitor for the Raspberry Pi, Looks great, can attach Pi to rear of monitor with optional VESA mounting plate. Have also used it as a games monitor.”
“Bought this monitor to complement the Pi 400 we bought our Grandson for Christmas, we have not opened it yet as his birthday is 31st of this month, I will update you his response when he receives the monitor.”
“An excellent monitor, very clear and sharp. The size makes it very easy to use. I will be using these in my current project and will be purchasing at least another 4 for that. The audio is not great but is sufficient for system beeps etc. The touch screen aspect also works very well.
To get the best out of this monitor the config.txt file needs to be edited as below.
# uncomment this if your display has a black border of unused pixels visible
# and your display can output without overscan
disable_overscan=0
# uncomment to force a specific HDMI mode
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt=1366 768 60
# This forces audio out of hdmi
hdmi_force_edid_audio=1”
“Great little monitor with touch screen.
One of the (daft) things preventing me from dipping my toes into the Raspberry Pi waters (Juices?) was a lack of a suitable display (I haven't had a telly for decades) I was going to buy an LCD and build a snazzy looking case ("one day Thomas...") but then I saw this monitor and thought "Just get everything working and learn how to use it before you start designing The Nautilus (or whatever)" I've tried out the touch facility, which works a treat, but not using it much (would be great for a kiosk application). As well as using it for the Pi, I also use it as a second monitor for my Mac and (with a mini HDMI) can plug it into my camera.
The display is clear and bright, and once you've been around the houses a few times, the menu system is easy to navigate (although I did manage to put it into 'burn in mode' by picking it up and touching too many buttons, couldn't find anything in the documentation about this but managed to navigate my way out of it).”
“Bought the Raspberry pi 4 and needed a screen to accompany it and this didn’t disappoint. Great screen, good quality and big enough to see what I’m working on but not too big. Had an issue, initially, setting it up to work with the raspberry pi as I kept getting a no signal message but this was down to computer and not the screen and once I’d sorted that out it was fine. Great screen and does the job and the touchscreen functionality is an added bonus although a bit fiddly to start with until you get used to it.”
“I have, for some time, felt the need for a dedicated setup for learning Python and when this monitor became available, it seemed by far the best base for my idea of what to build. I knew I would also need a good computer to drive it and it would be useful to have it all as one portable unit. So I have put together a very simple system that works well and has a big enough screen for my needs.
In addition to the Hannspree monitor, I bought a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4G of Ram, a VESA mount and a fan cooled case. My only minor problem is that a couple of the small screws were missing from the packet. Assembly was very straightforward once I realised that placement of the case onto the VESA mount needed to leave the mounting holes on the side of the case opposite the sockets otherwise the mounting bolts interfere with the HDMI cable. I also discovered that the HDMI cable I originally used was faulty and caused me considerable problems with the audio until it, fortunately broke and I replaced it with a good one. Now, all is good and I'm very pleased with the result.”
