A very pretty case that was designed for the RPi Zero v1.2 and fortuitously fits the v1.3. As the camera module socket in the v1.3 protrudes from the PCB, so will it stick out from this case —as in most C4 Labs cases—. Once in the Zebra Zero, I find it very difficult to unlock the tab of the camera module socket without scratching it. Some way to distinguish the power socket from the micro-USB socket at a glance would have been nice. Peeking at the hidden PCB sideways is not optimal. There is complete access to the GPIO pins, from above and below. I can't understand some of the reviewers' complains. You are supposed to solder the pins before fitting the Zero into the case, but I thought that would be obvious. Excellent assembly diagrams are to be found at the C4 Labs webpage. The only challenge was in keeping the acrylic layers dust-free: The most minuscule speck will show against the black.

Nice piece of kit. But time after time with these kits, there are no instructions! I know for the most it seems a doddle, but I like to make sure it's right. When things don't line up (as parts of the design doesn't). Took me a while to hunt the basic instructions image, as the manufacturers weblink was down. Google was my friend. So without the construction grape. Great! :)

They say that all good things come in small packages well this little case fits the bill, easy assembly and a neat mixture of clear and opaque acrylic with the steel fasteners giving it that high tech look.

Excellent case, but needs a bit of thought for assembly.

I got the wood version of this case and I'm happy with it. :) It looks retro and the heat sink (first version of this case) was a very nice addition. It wasn't necessary but it's still great to have in stressful summer days. ;)
