I bought this to connect a SATA SSD to my Pi4. Using the instructions in Tom's Hardware it worked perfectly, with the SSD sitting nicely under the Pi and giving a speed boost of at least 3X.

This is brilliant. I replaced a b*st*rdised, mains-powered controller board ripped from a Seagate external 3.5" drive with this and found it to be marginally faster with the bonus of being bus-powered AND not having a naked PCB hanging around on my desk waiting for coffee insertion. Supports UASP out of the box (finally, after four different bus-powered controllers!!) has a short enough cable to be tidy and has a firm fit to the SSD. No complaints at all.

Good quality and works as intended. Have a number of these and never had any issues.

I'd previously bought an SSD/USB3.0 adaptor for my pi4 but had issues with it causing nearby wireless devices to drop off the network. Apparently this is a known problem with poor shielding in these adaptors. I then bought the 'proper' item from pi-hut (they were initially our of stock when I bought the other one) but it has the same problem. Yes it does technically work in that I can run an SSD on usb3.0 with my pi, but as it prevents loads of other important devices from connecting to the network it's a bit useless. As always though, pi-hut support was excellent and I've been able to return the item for a full refund. I'd have preferred it to work properly though!
