“As much as the Rii wireless keyboard is a solid build quality, since it arrived without instructions or version details, it took a long time to figure out how to setup with my RPI3 dual boot raspbian + openelec setup.
An internet search implied 2 versions of the keyboard; a Bluetooth + a USB wireless. Having not found any obvious USB dongle, several hours were then spent attempting to set it up as a Bluetooth. When finally in frustration I carried out another thorough investigation of the physical keyboard, I discovered on the bottom that what I had thought was the battery enclosure in fact contained the USB dongle. Plugged it in + seconds later, feeling v foolish, the keyboard started working.
After a month of use find generally it operates well, however have experienced a few glitches. After suddenly starting to get buffering glitches when streaming video, discovered if I turn the wireless keyboard off this stops. No chance as yet to research if there's a fix yet as too much else to set up on RPi. Also not all special buttons seem to work but not had a chance to investigate further. Trackpad mouse + R-hand-side L/R buttons can be erratic at times but reckon there are probably sensitivity settings that would sort this when I've time to find them.
So knocked one star off for the little glitches. Overall satisfied”
