“I set this up as I live 5km from an airport - within minutes I was live tracking flights in the vicinity and sending them to the flightaware website. It also comes with free premium access. Its a really nice piece of kit that makes you feel you are contributing to something with your pi.”

“A good device but looks unstable when plugged into a USB port horizontally. The weight of the device and the weight of connecting cable tend to put a strain on the USB Connector. I found it better to insert it in an USB that was a vertical connection. Also needs a special driver which sometimes gets lost when the computer is turned off and needs to be reinstalled. Otherwise it does the job perfectly.”
“I used to have a 'classic' RTL dongle together with FlightAware's ADS-B filter and had no problems with this combo.
I decided to compare the setup by replacing them both with just this stick.
The results are very similar, wiith the pro-stick being slightly better! Got hits at 250 nm, whereas the previous setup maxed out at around 230nm!”
