“Product description says breadboard friendly, but pins are just a little large for breadboarding. It has to be pushed into the breadboard very firmly.”
“These are great little potentiometers and the 10Kohm work well on a breadborad with a Raspberry Pi 3B+ and a MCP3008 "bit banging" chip. The latest GPIO Zero code couldn't be simpler.
However I had problems with my hamfisted soldering of wires to the potentiometer. Solder only to the pins. Do NOT stick your wires through the holes between the pins and potentiometer body and try to solder to that. I messed up two of my six potentiometers this way and then was dumb enough to try it again with a smaller soldering iron! Fortunately these potentiometers are cheap. So my advice is be very careful and order a couple of spares for mishaps until you've got the hang of this.
PS I also bought a 16 pin socket so i didn't risk soldering the MCP3008 directly.”
