“Very useful, as it does its job. Very, very, very bright LED takes power from the USB supply, so you may want to take that into account. There is no way to know if the switch is on or off until you power it, so you may want to connect the power supply before the device and make sure you switch it off if it is on, then you connect the device and power it up. Many devices, though, don't care if you plug them in with power on, though, but it all depends on specific circumstances.”
“I love this. With my Pi 2, I felt like I was spending far too much time under my desk rebooting, to avoid wear on the USB socket. I ordered it at the last moment because it seemed such good value and I'm delighted I did. I'd like the equivalent for the Pi 2 now. I wasn't even expecting the 'power on' LED.”
