“Fits into a Pibow 4 Coupe Case but was very disappointing in performance. I did not notice any reduction in CPU temperature. I think I would have been better off with a fan shim.”
“It looks good and fitted easily. It didn't have any effect on the temperature of my RP4 in the official case, but that's probably down to the lack of airflow. Moving the RP4 and heatsink to an open "cluster case" dropped the ideal temperature from 75C to 45C while adding the heatsink dropped it to a very satisfactory 35C. Highly recommended if not using a standard RP4 case.”
“Only makes contact with the CPU, but it seems to do a decent job of keeping things far cooler than without. Looks good and fits underneath most HATs!”
“I ordered before reading the reviews in detail and would in hindsight order the 4 individual heat sinks instead of this one big one. But it is low enough cost to try and then go for another solution if what I did is not for you.
So I 'junior hacksawed' this into 4 chunks CPU, memory, controller chips. Biggest bit reserved for the cpu which I positioned so would not cover up the wifi/bluetooth chip.
Carefully using alcohol and cotton bud to clean the top of the chips before attaching each chunk with the (thermal?) tape provided on the back of the heatsink. It works and with the Pi4 official case drilled with some vent holes the Pi4b runs cool enough for my use.”
