“The PiHut 3 in 1 Camera Lens Set consists of 3 lenses with mainly anodised aluminium bodies. The packaging graphic has the lenses miss-named. The largest is the Fisheye, which is not at all capable of the purported 180ยบ view, with uneven distortion. The 0.67x Wide Angle Lens is not a stand alone lens and must be joined together with the Macro lens to be of use. Of the three items of glassware, the Macro lens produces the most impressive results. My Fisheye had a mark on the surface that at first looked like impact damage but turned out to be a particularly stubborn smudge of something hard and rough on the surface that required careful removal that took about 10 minutes with a firm plastic blade so as not to scratch the surface and firm finishing with a microfibre cloth. The lenses are supplied with a robust plastic clip with rubberised pads, and metal thread to screw the lenses to. The clip is ideal for use with mobile phones, less good for PCB mounted cameras, such as the PiCam, unless the camera module is mounted in a case. For the price they were, these lenses are okay, however the inaccurate packaging and the inaccuracy of the markings on the lens show a real lack of knowledge of the product and quality control. Cheap and cheerful with a hint of lack of pride in production, may inspire head shaking, mutterings of disbelief maybe even a facepalm or two. 3/5”
