I bought this for use with a pi zero w, however whilst it works from a size and form point of view setup with the software from HiFiBerry was difficult to get working (networking) and once it was the performance was sluggish and unstable. Decided to plug it into a Pi 4b 4gig and the result were totally different. Easy to install, snappy performance and most importantly the audio quality good. Had I known what the HiFiBerry DAC was going to be like I would not of bought this model but would have got one of the other Hifiberry devices specifically for the Pi 4

Great value. I used this to create a streamer with a Raspberry Zero WH and a similarly small Class D Amp. Remarkably compact size and great sound quality. I wanted to be able to: - stream (Tidal and Bandcamp) i.e. online music streaming sources, radio and my music from my server. - to multiple machines - controllable from my phone I experimented with a variety of clients and and media servers. My conclusion was that the Raspberry zero was not powerful enough / didn't have the memory to "pull" music, but worked very well to be "pushed" to by a media streamer sitting on my server.

I bought this to make a Plexamp together with a RPi Zero WH. Snapped the two together, a bit of config and easy steaming. Very happy with the delivery and product.

The hardware is OK and went together no problems but it took a day of internet searching to establish that the dac zero plus does NOT use the dac plus driver, only the standard DAC driver. Once I stopped trying to make the plus driver work, and installed pulse audio to get some kind of volume control, everything sprang to life. My project was a hifi internet radio tuner and archived MP3 and FLAC player controlled by a smart phone via a web interface. It has proved a great hit with guests who can now select music whilst drinking at the dinner table.

Currently set up with a Pi Zero - easy to setup and use with both Volumio and RuneAudio 0.5 as headless audio streamer - it has brought my 30 year hifi into the 21st century:-)
