“Overall I'm very satisfied with the Pi and it has finally got me into using Linux more seriously.
I'm an embedded engineer by profession but have not needed Linux before so there has been a bit of a learning curve but having a real application helps.
The Pi itself works out of the (nicely presented) box and I was able to get several things working fairly quickly after some internet searching. Unfortunately I can only give 4 stars as I believe the Pi has a serious shortcoming with respect to it not having any analogue inputs on board. As it is meant to be a learning tool with emphasis on real applications then I don't understand why this was left out. There are so many applications that kids (of any age) probably want to do that would require at least one analogue input. Hey ho, it is still a cheap platform and for as little as maybe £1 an ADC can be relatively easily added on to a breadboard.”
