“Simple Plug-N-Play device that worked straight out the box for an RPi5 to VGA Monitor. I'm running UGS on the Pi5 to run my CNC and I'm using an existing VGA screen as a monitor. Good resolution and no extra expense of HDMI screen.
Note: This converter has a male HDMI plug on it, so for a Pi5 you need a cable that plugs into the micro-HDMI but has a full sized female socket on the other end to take the converter...”
“Small and mighty.
I used this with a Pi 400 by using the cable that came with the Pi and a HDMI coupler. The video and sound work perfectly. Another excellent Pi Hut item.”
“Having connected, got picture on a large monitor. Had the Pi for at least 6 years and never could get a picture other than a very small screen, to small to use. Wow !”
“At first this converter kept crashing my Raspberry Pi, but the The Pi Hut were helpful and explained that it was the power supply. I deduced that my power supply expected the load to be steady (although Amazon said it was a Raspberry Pi power supply), but a VGA screen is not a steady load. (It takes the current in gulps.) Connecting a 20,000uF across the power supply (pins 2 & 39) of the 40 pin connector fixed the issue. Now the converter works perfectly. I will replace my power supply with one from The Pi Hut.”
“The converter was fine but has now stopped working. The pi runs 24/7 processing data for release to the internet, the monitor is active but sitting idle. Maybe I asked too much of it. Oh well, back to HDMI until I sort out something else.”
