It provides power to the raspberry pi so you do not have to use a separate power supply.
The low power indicator does seem to show slightly more often, but that might be due to the LCD backlight, not the cable.”
“Very neat solution to keeping the GPIO pins clear. Unfortunately on the latest Pi, the increased power demands of the 1.4GHz processor mean that the yellow lightning bolt makes its appearance when processor is working hard. Back to the patch leads for now :(”
