“It indeed makes everything nice and tidy without GPIO cables poking out, but it doesn't give enough current through screen. Constant under voltage symbols even on idle and unstability.
2,5A official PSU > 7" screen > this usb cable > RPI3 draws 5,1V 0,7-0,86A on idle and 0,86A on 100% cpu load. Constant under voltage symbol.
2,5A official PSU > RPI3 > GPIO out > 7" screen draws 5,17V 0,67A idle and 5,1V 1,1A on 100% cpu load. No under voltage symbol even on 100% cpu.”
“It works great with the Official Raspberry Screen, ONLY if used with an "open" casing as a "closed" one would not allow its usage : however it can also be used to power a Pi from a portable battery thus having a very short cable. I defenetly recommend it !”
