I bought this with my 6 year old granddaughters in mind and then spent quite a while getting to a state where they could run with it. I have to say its been more of a learning process for me than them at the moment. I've written some software which is up on github at https://github.com/G3UKB/CamJam. I keep improving it and I'm sure it can be improved a lot more. I run it over RDP (Remote Desktop) either from Windows or Linux and I tried Android but gestures really don't seem to work reliably on the RDP clients I tried. The software needs Python3 (already on the latest Raspbian) and PyQt5. It will also kind of run for some basic testing on a PC as there is a fake GPIO lib included. I seem to be hitting the limits of the hardware now but at the price its a fantastic bit of kit and whetted my appetite for adding more stuff. bob :)

Commande livrée très rapidement. L'objectif et de faire découvrir les possibilités d'un Pi Zero, d'un peu de code, d'électronique pour débloquer l'imaginaire de la création ! Rendez-vous dans quelques moi... Jean-Luc

Everything else seems to work but I cannot get the ultrasonic module to work. I know the raspberry pi works okay if I manually simulate an echo. Not sure I can just test the module.

This is my second review on this kit [see earlier review titled "Your first Robot simplified..." or visit http://tinyurl.com/hvmhqbn]... This kit remains a worthy investment but as with anything, continued use highlights where improvement could be made and I currently have two of them: The Wheels: the right size with a flange on the axle but the WRONG material - the wheels are plastic and they slip on everything - wooden floors, tiles, vinyl, smooth cement etc. They also won't run on carpet... The Castor: a good idea but does not spin freely and after 3 months, mine is already rusting... However, this kit is still an excellent way to get into exploring robotics, especially as it eliminates the hassle of trying to match components...

Bought this to teach my son about robotics and programming. The kit was fine, a basic robot (no chasis) 2 sensors (line follow and collision avoidance) and everything else you needed. It works on my Raspberry Pi A and B+ - so it should work on most versions. It's just a shame CamJam don't do any other more advanced kits. I'd be getting those also. Well worth the money, to get into robotics - and once you have this as a starter kit you can always expand it.

I received the EduKit 3 well packed and complete with all the necessary components and parts to get started immediately. The online tutorials cover assembly and finally actually making the robot move, detect obstacles and follow tracks. It is a must have for anyone even those without electronics background such as myself. Definitely extending this into a camera-based navigation robot with my action camera
