I have used these for Primary Kids - they can be a bit fiddly - a plug and play might be better but they are ultimately good for learning.

I've just soldered my PiZero and used it particularly for this project. And the outcome was perfect, robot running, sensors following, remote controlling etc. (considering my noob solder skills)

The kit came exactly as described. My only concern is if my students can build a chassis that works well with the parts.

If you want to mess about with elementary robotics on a budget then this is the kit for you. Having messed about and worked though the tutorials i can say it was a lot of fun and was certainly a nice easy way to break into robotics. I'm already thinking and modify parts and have a greater understanding of the basics. While its not going to give you the scope of some of the more expensive kits out there it certainly is a good place to start for the total novice and would be a nice present for any child with an interest in robotics and something more practical to go with a Raspberry Pi present. Under normal circumstances id have given this 5 stars. Sadly were 2 issues that prevented me giving this 4 stars. 1, On opening the kit was missing the breadboard leads needed to complete the sensor projects. It was also missing the double-sided sticky foam pads to allow you to attach the motors to the box if that's how your going to construct. A kit like this should not be missing anything. Fortunately I had replacements for both but that's not the point. 2, The other issue is that the box arrived simply with the address label stuck on the outside. The box is certainly strong enough and was sealed but if you are buying as a gift, you might want to get it delivered elsewhere if the recipient lives with you. Overall i would recommend and trust my missing parts were a one off.

Hello, What is provided in the kit is rather good. Instructions for how it works are good. But there is no clue on the way to use the box as a chassis. There is a worksheet showing how to place the wheels and motors. It makes easily a remote controled robot. But then when it is use use the sensors, there is nothing to help to placing them. I am still looking for a way to use the line follower sensor on it.

Well packed in a sturdy box that can be used as a chassis for the PiBot, this is a great introduction to the wonders of motors, programming and Raspberry Pi's. The instructions are clear, well paced and nicely laid out enabling those even with little computer knowledge to get going fast!

The set is perfect for beginner to learn the basics of motor control, distance measurement and self driving vehicles. There is a good instruction with working python code available and your ideas could be easily implemented. It makes a lot of fun to build a small driving robot an looking how it moves ... best regards from Germany Martin
