“I was looking for a case for my new Raspberry Pi 2 and this was recommended. It is a lovely aluminium case, all the sockets on the Pi 2 line up perfectly, and the case looks great.
Unfortunately, the case was clearly designed for the RPi Model B+ rather than the RPi 2 and the problem is that that the BCM2836 chip has been shifted a couple of millimetres from where the BCM2835 chip was on the B+. As a result the case’s built-in heat sink does not fully align with the BCM2836 and will not be able to cool it properly; and since there is a built-in heat sink, it is not possible to use a separate heat sink (at least not without modifying the case).
As long as you don’t plan to over clock Pi 2 this is not a problem, but if you do want to over clock then you may want to consider a different case. Speaking personally though, I’m happy to keep the case and not over clock.”
“The box looks great and seems tough enough to protect the Pi from wear and tear, but the screws used to put it all together seem to be just too short to reach all the way though the case, the circuit board and into the threaded holes on the other side.”
“The FLIRC case for my raspberry Pi 2 feels and looks like a quality product. I'm very pleased with it and would thoroughly recommend it as an alternative to the cheaper plastic cases.”
