“With built in heat sink and one piece aluminium design this is perfect for static Pi installations that don't need to be popping leads onto the GPIO or the camera connector on and off.
There are ways to make these accessible but for a Pi set up as an experimental base you might choose something less elegant but with greater access.
For a Media Centre Kodi install or a setting up a VPN server or micro Git mirror it's a well priced and very attractive solution that deals with excess heat in a compact and no fuss way -- included is the stick on heat exchange pad.”
“The flirc case looks nice. But more important, it works very well. My pi 3b+ is running pihole. The cpu temperature was around 55C in a standard plastic case (even with the top and side panels removed). With the flirc case, the temperature is 45C. The case itself is warm, which means it works as it was designed to do.”
“Really nice case that seems to perform its heat dissipation function well. N.B. The FAQ on the website is currently wrong, you CAN see the system LEDS on the current version of this case with a 3 or 3+. They modified the original version of this case so they are now visible. They also modified the SD slot so the SDs can be easily removed, unlike the original case where you had to use some fine tweezers.”
“I recommend this one to everyone who wants to have aa pro look for his projects or has high performance tasks for his Pi in mind, the metal housing was DESIGNED to cool down optimal. Just buy it!”
