“While the TEFL cert program is good, some of the Quiz questions seem to refer to specific areas not covered well in the lesson plans and when you go to the section it states the question comes from, you may not find anything referring to it.”

“I took awhile to start this course because of domestic issues. When I began,I knew I had chosen correctly.The course is concise and informative. It includes a bit of all my favourite subjects, Literature, History and Geography. In my imagination I could see the various peoples mentioned, travelling from one place to another, finally settling, but struggling to master a new language. I am enjoying the excitement of school again and the challenge of retaining what is taught and the expectation of reaching the crest armed with loads of new information for the benefit of people I have yet to meet.”

“The course is exciting and useful, but it has low practical value. The course is targeted at adult students and less on young learners. Most of the ideas the course gives must be, at least, readjusted if you teach in non-English speaking countries. There is a huge difference when people learn the language in their own country where they have no problem communicating outside of the class, where their future doesn't depend on their language knowledge, and when students are in a foreign country and have to know the language. This course is focused mainly on the second case. Expecting from the young learners that a high level of rationality is a bit of utopia and the same as that strong motivation from adults.”

“So far so good! Only worked on the grammar section section up to now. I find it well written, clear and easy to follow. The videos of EFL lessons are really helpful, along with tips regarding things learners might find difficult. The short assessments, the quizzes, are not really helping me learn though - as a native speaker I could probably guess at them. So I'm doing my own assessments/learning by using my grammar book and by practising teaching tricky bits of grammar on friends.”

“This course is really useful for new teachers to learn some teaching knowledge. If there were some practice of teaching a lesson in real life, it would be better.”

“I am very much enjoying the course. It is extremely well put together, very thorough, and everything valuable to becoming a teacher of English as a foreign language. There are many things that I wish I had known when learning Spanish, such as working to improve through focussing on sub-skills, but hey ho, its never too late to improve! This is just one example of what excites me about the prospect of being to help individuals learning English, and this course is providing a brilliant base to this dream. Thank you TEFL.org!”
