Recently, I tried the UA Apollo plugin. UA only allows SoundID to calibrate the main mix and headphone outputs. Unfortunately, the UA console keeps dropping (disabling) the SoundID plugin. I have removed the SoundID plugin from the Apollo interface until they can guarantee it is rock solid and not randomly dropping out. Until then, it will remain in the Cubase Control Room, and the Apollo add-on will be a waste of money. I send headphone mixes to an external mixer through ADAT, so the fact that the Apollo SoundID only works with the internal headphones and does not allow ADAT or other outputs to be assigned is not helpful in my studio. Furthermore, the Apollo plugin does not support Virtual Monitoring. The UA Apollo plugin is unreliable and lacks essential functionality in my setup.

As with most “Sound ID” (or Sonarworks? Please make up your minds…) products, it solves a big problem on paper (System wide correction latency), but is plagued by usability issues and overlooked bugs.

This is exactly what I’ve always wished for the Apollo. I now switch it on every time my sound system is on, and the seamless integration is incredible. There’s just one thing I’d like to see improved: the add-on should be enabled automatically after every reboot or system start. (Maybe that's a UAD Problem in the Console)

Love how it is now implemented and the possibility to have correction run for headphones and speakers simultaneously. The whole set up makes everything so much easier now!

The Sonarworks software, paired with the Apollo Monitor Correction add-on, has completely transformed my music production experience. Its seamless integration with my Apollo UAD setup provides an unprecedented level of accuracy, allowing me to hear my music with incredible clarity and precision. This add-on has filled a critical gap in my workflow, giving me the confidence that my mixes will translate perfectly across any listening platform. It’s the missing piece I never thought I could achieve, and it has elevated my home studio to a professional level. Truly a game-changer.
